MEMBERS The Springfield City Board of Education consists of five members, elected for overlapping four-year terms. It is the responsibility of the Board of Education to establish policies and be legally responsible for the education of the children of the district. The superintendent and treasurer are direct employees of the Board. Each member also represents the Board on various local and state committees. Copies of the policies set by the Board of Education are available to the public in the office of the superintendent, the public library, in any of the school offices and also here. At the organizational meeting held in January, the Board sets the schedule for its regular board meetings for the calendar year. The meeting schedule adopted for 2010 for regular meetings are listed below (right column). Our Board meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. at the Clark Center, Room 14, 1500 West Jefferson Street, in Springfield, unless otherwise noted on the agenda. Tentative agendas will be added on the Friday preceeding the Thursday meeting. If there are changes to the agenda, a final agenda will be posted Tuesday afternoon or as soon as possible the week of the Board meeting. BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING AGENDAS
